Note: The transition into the first state at t=1, and out of the last state at t=7 are special cases, and are useful for expressing the total probability of the Viterbi path using a consistent formula.

The exact values don't matter when trying to compare alternate paths (because they are common), but intuitively, the probability of transitioning in is 1.0 (we know some gesture happened), while that of transitioning out comes directly from the HMM.
